01Who We Are

Quazel Mortgage / New Point Lending

Quazel Mortgage is a DBA (doing business as) of New Point Lending, NMLS #2133626. We are a licensed mortgage brokerage, not a bank. That means we work with multiple wholesale lenders on your behalf to find loan options that fit your situation. We are licensed to originate mortgage loans in Utah, Idaho, Florida, and Colorado.

This Privacy Policy and Financial Privacy Notice covers information we collect through our website at quazels.com, our loan application process, and any other interaction you have with Quazel Mortgage or New Point Lending.

Questions about this policy can be directed to [email protected] or by phone at 801-505-2567.

02Financial Privacy Notice (GLBA)

Federal Law Requires Us to
Tell You This

The Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) requires financial institutions to explain how they share your personal financial information. This section is that notice.

What does Quazel Mortgage do with your personal financial information? When you apply for a mortgage with us, we collect personal information about you. Federal law gives you the right to limit some — but not all — sharing of this information. Federal law also requires us to tell you how we collect, share, and protect your information.

What We Do Why / Can You Limit This?
We collect your personal information when you apply for a mortgage. Required to process and service your loan as required by law.
We share your information with wholesale lenders, title/escrow companies, appraisers, and credit bureaus to complete your transaction. Necessary to originate your loan. Cannot opt out
We share your information with service providers who help us operate our business (loan origination software, CRM platform). These vendors are contractually required to protect your data and use it only for the services they provide to us. Cannot opt out
We may share your name and contact information with affiliated real estate partners for joint marketing purposes. You may opt out of this type of sharing. See Section 6. Can opt out
We do not sell your personal financial information to unaffiliated third parties for their own marketing use. We do not do this and no opt-out is needed.

We protect your information using security safeguards that comply with federal law, including computer safeguards, encrypted transmission, and secured file storage. We limit access to your information to those employees and service providers who need it to do their job.

03Information We Collect

What We Collect
and From Where

We collect information about you from several sources, depending on how you interact with us.

Information you give us directly

Name, address, date of birth, Social Security number, employment and income details, asset information, debt obligations, and any other information you provide on a loan application, contact form, or in conversation with our team.

Information from your transactions

Payment history, account balances, credit card and loan information, and transaction activity related to your mortgage application or any prior loans you have had with us.

Information from third parties

Credit reports and scores from consumer reporting agencies, property and appraisal data, employment and income verification from payroll providers, and information from government agencies required for loan processing.

Information from our website

IP address, browser type, pages visited, time on site, referring URL, and device information collected automatically when you visit quazels.com. If you fill out a form or use our calculators, we collect the inputs you provide.

04How We Use Your Information

How We Use
What We Collect

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To process and service your mortgage loan — including running your credit, underwriting, submitting to wholesale lenders, coordinating with title and escrow, and funding your loan.
  • To comply with federal and state laws — including anti-money laundering rules, fair lending laws, and reporting requirements.
  • To communicate with you about your application status, loan options, rate changes, and closing timelines.
  • To improve our website and tools — including understanding how visitors use our calculators and educational pages.
  • To send you relevant updates and information about mortgage programs, rate changes, or refinance opportunities, if you have given us permission to do so.
  • To detect and prevent fraud and unauthorized access to your information.

We do not use automated decision-making or profiling in a way that produces legal or similarly significant effects about you without human review.

05Who We Share Your Information With

A Clear Picture of
Who Sees Your Data

Because we are a mortgage brokerage, completing your loan requires sharing your information with several parties. Here is a clear breakdown:

We Share With Why Can You Opt Out?
Wholesale lenders (banks and investors who fund your loan) Required to originate and close your mortgage No
Credit reporting agencies (Equifax, Experian, TransUnion) Required for credit review and loan underwriting No
Title and escrow companies Required to complete the real estate transaction and transfer title No
Appraisers Required to establish the value of the property securing the loan No
Loan origination software and technology service providers (LOS, CRM, document platforms) Required to operate our business systems. These vendors are bound by data protection agreements. No
Affiliated real estate partners for joint marketing To offer you relevant home search and real estate services Yes — see Section 6
Government agencies and regulators Required by law, court order, or regulatory examination No

We do not sell your personal financial information to data brokers, advertising networks, or unaffiliated third parties for their marketing purposes.

06Your Right to Opt Out

How to Limit
Your Data Sharing

You have the right to opt out of the sharing of your information with affiliated real estate partners for joint marketing purposes. This sharing is limited to your name and contact information — never your financial account details, Social Security number, or credit data.

To opt out, you can:

  • Email us at [email protected] with "Privacy Opt-Out" in the subject line
  • Call us at 801-505-2567
  • Mail a written request to: Quazel Mortgage, Attn: Privacy Opt-Out, NMLS #2133626

If you opt out, your preference will remain in effect unless you tell us otherwise. We will process your request within 30 days. We cannot reverse sharing that has already occurred as part of completing a prior transaction.

07How We Protect Your Information

Security
Safeguards We Use

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your nonpublic personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These include:

  • Encrypted document transmission for loan applications and financial data
  • Access controls that limit who on our team can view your personal information
  • Vendor agreements requiring our service providers to maintain appropriate data security standards
  • Secure file storage for physical documents containing sensitive information

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. If you have reason to believe your information has been compromised, please contact us immediately at [email protected].

09Cookies and Tracking

Cookies We Use
and Your Controls

Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve your experience and understand how visitors use our site.

  • Essential cookies: Necessary for the website to function. These cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics cookies: Help us understand which pages and tools are most useful. We use this data in aggregate form, not to identify individuals.
  • Marketing cookies: May be used to show you relevant content based on your visit. These are placed by third-party platforms we use such as our CRM or advertising tools.

You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings at any time. If you are a resident of Colorado or Florida, you have the right to opt out of cookies used for targeted advertising. See Section 10 for how to exercise that right.

10Your State Privacy Rights

Rights Based on
Where You Live

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state law. We honor these rights for all residents of states where we are licensed and for any consumer who interacts with our website.

Colorado

Colorado Privacy Act (CPA) — effective July 1, 2023. You have the right to access, correct, delete, and port your personal data, and to opt out of targeted advertising and the sale of personal data.

Florida Digital Bill of Rights (FDBR) — effective July 1, 2024. You have the right to access, correct, delete, and port your data, and to opt out of processing for targeted advertising and profiling.

Utah Consumer Privacy Act (UCPA) — effective December 31, 2023. You have the right to access and delete your personal data and to opt out of the sale of personal data and targeted advertising.

Idaho

Idaho does not currently have a comprehensive consumer privacy law. Your rights are governed by federal law, including GLBA, and the terms of this policy.

How to exercise your state privacy rights: Email [email protected] with "Privacy Rights Request" in the subject line. Include your name, state of residence, and a description of the right you want to exercise. We will respond within 45 days.

Appeals: If we deny your request, we will explain why in writing. You may appeal the denial by responding to that notice. If your appeal is denied, Colorado and Florida residents may contact their state attorney general for further recourse.

Some data we hold about you is covered by GLBA, not state privacy laws. The rights described in this section apply to personal data we collect outside of that regulated scope — for example, website analytics or marketing preferences.
